BIO
Naoko Kusunoki is an independent perfumer and olfactory artist based in Tokyo and Kyoto. After studying International Politics and Graphic Design at university, she completed the GIP Level 3 Advanced and ISIPCA online courses in perfumery, and later earned an MFA in Contemporary Art Practice, focusing on olfactory expression within contemporary art.
Her practice contemplates how scent can inhabit the realm of art—as both material and metaphor. She founded YOUR EXCLUSIVE, a perfumery atelier dedicated to creating original compositions outside the framework of ready-made products, and to offering bespoke fragrances and creative olfactory experiences. Through her exhibitions, she explores the sensorial and conceptual possibilities of smell across diverse media.
